Gainesville, FL – The Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention has received a $5,000 Capacity Building grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Florida (CFNCF) to purchase tablets, laptop computers, and expand STEAM learning experiences both in and outside of the museum. The funding will provide new tablets and laptops that museum guests and students can use to explore subjects such as coding, 3D design, digital media, and more.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Community Foundation of North Central Florida for this generous grant. These funds will help take our educational programs to the next level and provide the tools needed to learn about new technologies and develop valuable skills.”
– Bradley Gamble, CEO, Cade Museum
The devices will be used by museum guests and by hundreds of students in local schools and community centers throughout Alachua County. “This new technology will also allow us to expand our educational offerings to include online learning modules, virtual workshops, and digital content creation tools,” said Carmen Hurtado, senior manager of education at the Cade Museum.
Through incorporating more digital learning tools, the museum will ensure that more people can participate in hands-on, technology-driven educational experiences. “We are committed to ensuring that every student—regardless of where they are—has access to the kind of transformative learning experiences that we provide,” said Gamble. “With this additional technology, we’re excited to offer a wider range of educational opportunities and reach even more students, inspiring them to become the problem-solvers and creative thinkers of tomorrow.”
