Inventivity™: a concept so important we had to invent a word to capture it!

What is Inventivity™?

Inventivity™ is harnessing creativity and inventivity™ simultaneously and having the mindset of an inventor.

Inventivity™ means having the:

  1. Courage to embrace problems without apparent solutions
  2. Resilience despite setbacks, believing failure can be just as useful as success
  3. Confidence that key insights will come from unexpected sources

Dr. Cade’s approach to life exemplified a spirit of inventivity™.

The Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention is named for Dr. Cade, who led the team that invented Gatorade in 1965. Inspired by his curiosity, creativity and his life-long love of learning, all Cade Museum curriculum and programs are designed to spark wonder and develop a mindset of inventivity™.

Inventivity™ is more important than ever.

Technology is changing so rapidly that the World Economic Forum says that “65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in completely new job types that don’t yet exist.”

The complexity and interconnectedness of today’s problems are overwhelming, and we need to reimagine how we prepare kids for the future. Mastering new tools and technology and adopting an inventive mindset is critical for the future generations of problem solvers.
